The key to reading the MPI is understanding the simple color code.

Green: Go / Passed Inspection

• What it means:
  The system passed the inspection. All components are operating within safe, manufacturer specifications.
• What does this mean for me?
  No action is required. This confirms you are taking great care of your vehicle.

Yellow: Caution / Monitor

• What it means:
  These components are currently functional and safe, but they are nearing the end of their service life. Examples include brake pads at 4mm or tires that are approaching the minimum tread depth.
• What does this mean for me?
  This is your budgeting tool. These items are typically safe for another 3 to 6 months, giving you time to plan for the repairs before your next visit.

Red: Urgent / Stop

• What it means:
  These items require immediate attention. They directly impact safety (like a severely leaking brake line) or could lead to significant component failure and a costly breakdown (like a major fluid leak or a worn-out tie rod).
• What does this mean for me?
  These repairs should be handled today to avoid getting stranded or causing more serious (and expensive) damage down the road.
